About Charles Barth

Charles Barth’s artwork has been included in more than 600 exhibitions since 1966: one-man shows, group shows, invitational exhibits, and juried, competitive exhibits on regional, national, and international levels. 

He has received 90 art awards since 1969 in competitive exhibits which included Best in Show, purchase awards, and honorable mentions. The intaglio prints are represented in numerous collections including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Des Moines Art Center, and Na Bolom in San Cristobal, Chiapas, Mexico.

Barth taught in the Art Department of Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for 30 years. He and his wife purchased a house in Oaxaca, Mexico in 1997.  Charles Barth spends much of his time in his Mexican studio. Mexico, especially Oaxaca, provides substance for his artwork.
